About
Kendall Phelps-Polirer, MD
Founder of The Charleston Atelier — a Charleston native and physician with a rare dual foundation in internal medicine and aesthetic medicine, practicing in the city that raised her.
Dr. Kendall is a Lowcountry native, born and raised in Charleston. She attended Mason Preparatory School and Wando High School before earning her Bachelor of Science from Clemson University’s Calhoun Honors College, completing both General and Departmental Honors. She went on to receive her medical doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, completed an internal medicine internship at USF Morsani College of Medicine & Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, FL, and finished her internal medicine residency training at Trident Medical Center in Charleston.
That foundation in internal medicine is what shapes her approach to aesthetic and longevity care. Dr. Kendall blends metabolic wellness, GLP-1 and peptide protocols, skin optimization, and prevention-forward medicine into a single physician-led experience — one where evidence-based outcomes are held to the same standard as the luxury-level patient experience.
Before founding The Charleston Atelier, she served as Medical Director at Koniver Aesthetics & Koniver Wellness, working closely alongside Dr. Craig Koniver, a nationally recognized leader in peptide medicine. She went on to start her own private concierge weight loss practice, where she has personally guided more than fifty close friends and family members through obesity therapy and metabolic medicine — treating weight and body composition not as an isolated goal, but as part of a broader, physician-led strategy built on safety, sustainability, and long-term performance.
The result is a clinical style that is both rigorous and refined: sophisticated aesthetics supported by internal-medicine-level oversight, individualized protocols, and true medical accountability. She founded The Charleston Atelier with a single mission — to turn fragmented, short-term aesthetic and wellness appointments into physician-led, luxury-designed protocols people can actually follow, so results compound and patients stay well.
She is also her own patient. She takes what she prescribes, feels what her patients feel, and adjusts what doesn’t work — because she knows firsthand that this is hard to do, and worth doing.
